Shmazettes,
Unfortunately, we’re posting our closing notice. We joined YouTube in 2009 and have spent the last seven years talking theatre with each other and with you. It’s been shmazing. We got to meet and work with great people, including Beth Leavel! But just like your favorite musical, nothing lasts forever. Even Phantom. It will eventually close.
We’ll keep this website up for the foreseeable future, so you can always find all our videos, interviews, and podcast episodes. If you have a question on Twitter, we’ll do our best to answer. Barely anyone likes us on Facebook, but if you’re there, we’ll try to respond too.
Thank you so much for all your support and for having such fun with us. Go see live theatre!
Sad to see you go.
What? No! I’m gonna miss you guys! Why are you closing?
I’m dead. (currently deceased here is the link to my obituary) http://static.playbill.com/dims4/default/1577345/2147483647/resize/250x/quality/90/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fstatic.playbill.com%2Fe1%2F7a%2Fbb964edb405eb028c15e7f730a34%2FStephanie-J-Block.1284398651.jpg
I feel like I just found you! Thank you for all the hours of entertainment. Best of luck in whatever you decide to do in the future. 🙂
For those of us without direct access to the NY theatre scene, you two have been a godsend. Watching your videos has made me feel like I’m right there in the thick of it, getting to see great shows with friends or attending the flea market (something which I have yet to do). Your enthusiasm has been infectious and I thank you for all the time and effort you put into sharing that passion with the rest of us. I sincerely hope everything is alright with you two – and between you two – and I eagerly await your re-review of Follies later in life. Please reunite when that day comes.
… and this is going to be such a good season too! Don’t you want to review Sunset Boulevard, Hello Dolly, Anastasia, Sunday in the Park with George and War Paint?
Sorry. I’m still in the negotiating phase.
Take a bow, girls.
So sad to see the end of your wonderful collaboration. I greatly enjoyed following you incredible insight and humor to the theater world; thank you for everything.
Good luck!
As a long-time lurker, I’ve appreciated all you’ve done. Much luck to your next phase. Bob from Chicago.
I actually can’t believe it’s over! I’ve been watching these videos since 2009. I was 12! Thank you so much Patty and Emily for what you’ve given theatre lovers like myself. I’ve always enjoyed your incredibly human approaches to reviewing the shows of the season. I’ve never had friends to talk about my love for Broadway with so I much appreciated being able to tune in with you guys! Now I’ll probably rewatch a few to commemorate this moment. Even though I know neither of you personally, I do love you both <3
Although you two were very funny at times, I also enjoyed your iTunes programs for the vast amount of info about the theater community. Without you I would have never sought out Carolee Carmello and so many others that you championed. Your absence from the 2016-2017 season and beyond will be felt deeply by all your longtime fans. Maybe you have one incarnation left tho: Patty & Emily: The Musical?? Cheers, thanks so much for what you did for Love.
I miss you guys so GOD DAMN MUCH
I just discovered you guys and sad that you had to end this! 🙁 But so grateful for the videos and podcast episodes still up on this site and YouTube!!!! 😀 Starting a podcast also as fans and we’re looking up to you guys as a guide and inspiration. Have a great day! 🙂
Ready for a Patty&Emily revival
