Patty & Emily start off on a sad note with the death of David Bowie and Liz Swados and the closing notice of Allegiance. They bring the mood back up with casting notices of Kate Baldwin in The King and I, Tony Yazbek in Finding Neverland, and Kecia Lewis in Mother Courage. There’s also a lot of off-topic convos about Jennifer Lawrence and Star Trek: TGN.
To answer your question about the Lyric Opera of Chicago, they are indeed full productions! I saw Carousel in 2015 (with Laura Osnes and Stephen Pasqule) and it was beautiful. Here are some highlights of that production:

The opera house is huge, so if you can afford better seats I recommend it, but if you’re going for Kate (I am also going for her), just about any seat would be a good one!
I am waiting until I get over my cold so I can finally rush Allegiance. I hope this doesn’t dissuade Lea from coming back to do another Broadway show.
Yes to Emily’s record company!
It would be great to see Kate Baldwin and Tony Yazbeck in their respective parts but I probably won’t have the opportunity to do so.
I went back to see Kecia Lewis in Mother Courage. I preferred Tonya Pinkins but under the circumstances, she gave a great performance. The drama was definitely an undercurrent throughout the evening. The most major change was that all the actors suddenly acquired “African” accents.
